The concept of Famous Aspect is that of a classic fashion and art publication, with modern elements in edit, atmosphere and design. Aesthetically the magazine mixes high and low elegance. It is putting something glamorous and dramatic with something realistic. It features photo stories, essays and interviews on fashion, art, music and architecture. The second issue (cover below) is planned for release in Summer 2009.
The creative director Marc Hohmann of studio KON/STRUKTUR collaborated with his partner Akiko Tsuji on this project. The upcoming issue of FAMOUS ASPECT NO.2 features an exclusive cover & 6 spread fashion story by acclaimed photographer Bert Houbrechts and the power stylist/executive director of Vienna Fashion Academy Priska Morger – both long time friends and visual consultants to Raf Simons; an interview with the Parisian designer Nicolas Andreas Taralis and an interview with former Helmut Lang partner Kostas Murkudis. Exclusive fashion photo stories by Viviane Sassen, Serge Leblon, Martina Hoogland Ivanow, Martien Mulder and Hirohisa Nakano, with fashion from Martin Margiela, Proenza Schouler, Christian Wijnants, Dior Homme, Yohji Yamamoto, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Jeremy Scott, underground UK and Japanese designers, etc., an interview with architect Richard Gluckman, and lots more…!
The first issue of Famous Aspect premiered in 2008 and was widely distributed internationally and available from art and fashion-oriented venues such as Colette Paris, Opening Ceremony New York and Selfridges London, as well as selected newsstands and bookstores such as Borders UK, Universal News NYC, RD Franks London and Aoyama Book Center Tokyo, even reaching Turkey, Cypress, Dubai, Taiwan, etc. It was featured at Visionaire’s “Megazines at Visionaire Gallery” exhibition in NYC honoring the best in independent magazine publishing.
