Surface Magazine #80 featured a special cover story China Doll, shot by Chinese fashion photographer Liu Song “刘颂” with stylist and fashion designer Xander Zhou and model Wang Xiao “王潇”. Liu turned to photography after seeing Michelangelo Antonioni‘s Blow Up in 2007, he has shot for publications such as Rolling Stone, L’officiel, Cosmopolitan, Yoho and O’zine, he is currently based in based in both Beijing and Shanghai. This fashion editorial is Liu’s first assignment for Surface magazine, and took him to two new spaces in Beijing, where he captured looks from Chinese native fashion designers, include Vega Wang, Les Jin “金翀宇”, Xander Zhou “周翔宇”, He Yan “何艳”, Qiu Hao “邱昊”, Liu Fang, and etc.
