Following last year’s award-winning Made in China issue, Born in Brazil is dedicated in its entirety to the people, culture, and creative genius of Brazil. To accomplish this the Wallpaper* team recently established operational HQ and luxurious quarters in Rio and São Paulo to produce the issue. From the discovery of massive offshore oil reserves to the awarding of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic games, Brazil is on a serious roll and Wallpaper* wanted to be at the centre of the action.
Three covers were created for this issue, one with model Ana Beatriz Barros on top of the Emiliano hotel in São Paulo, photographed by Stefan Ruiz, another with a bronzed and beautiful Brazilian boy Ricardo Figueiredo on top of the Fassano in Rio, also photographed by Stefan Ruiz, and a limited edition cover, which will not be made public until the issue’s launch, designed by artist Vik Muniz which will be sent to subscribers.
