Physalia: Move & Clean

A positive energy amphibious garden to clean European waterways, designed by Vincent Callebaut, the “Physalia” project is an architectural prototype that aims at meeting the need of the mutualisation of the knowledge in terms of sustainable management of the water resource. It is a half aquatic and half earthly amphibious vessel, a floating agora which has not only the objective on a geopolitical scale to deal with ecology ad water saving, but also on a European scale, to elaborate strategic solutions to animate the fluvial network.

I.D. Magazine Closure

After 55 years in publication, America’s foremost design publication, I.D Magazine (not UK fashion title i-D) has folded. I.D. was the oldest product design magazine in the US (since 1954), its yearly design competition, the Annual Design Review, was the oldest and biggest design competition in America, and had been operating ever since I.D.’s inception. F+W, I.D.’s publisher, plans on continuing the event and publishing the results online. Meanwhile, I.D.’s sister magazine print (The oldest design magazine in the US since 1940) will stay open.
