Dreams are the driving force of the world. Progress, development and hope ate all made possible by the existence of these nations, whether it be to propel artistic freedoms, push scientific frontiers or simply make the world a better place. The Spring 2011 dreams issue of Glass magazine was also conceived as a dream, to inform, challenge and inspire. Foam Magazine explores the theme happy in relation to photography. eight different portfolios express a cheerful lust for life, are marked by a silent enjoyment, or attest to an infectious non-conformism. At the very least, they gave us a wonderful feeling of joy.
In the T Magazine men’s fashion 2011 issue, Jonathan Mahler profiles the giddy San Francisco Giants pitching phenom Tim Lincecum, while a portfolio of rock stars gives a lesson on enduring cool. Elsewhere, a Soviet cosmonaut who was equal parts boozer and charmer, and a Californian who spent seven years on the shadowy margins in Yemen and the Horn of Africa. This year will doubtless be hers as she emerges with an album that has comeback written all over it. Not that Ms. Spears is coming back from anything, because through it all she has produced music that never ceases to get us talking, Tweeting, downloading, and, ultimately, dancing. When we think Britney, we think good times and great songs—minus the pretense.
